I grew up with cameras in hand ever since I was a little boy. The science and technical nature of capturing an image really fascinated my mind. My first serious venture into the artistic side came when I took several photography courses in high school under the direction of Gary Carlson [whom I consider one of my mentors]. Through his expertise and artistic vision, I found a love for nature and macro photography, of which I still enjoy very much today. This fascination was further embraced when I inherited my grandfather's Hasselblad, considered a symbol of excellence in the photography world.

In 2007, my life changed with the birth of my son, Jacob, and a newfound interest in documenting his growth as well as many other friends and family led me to turn my enthusiastic hobby into a profession. Shooting event and portraiture photography has been an awesome experience for me and I continually find and explore new ways to create wonderful, timeless frames of art.

My Philosophy

The technology in today's cameras can allow nearly anyone to capture some of the most stunning imagery. My philosophy is to explore new and unique ways to take that image to the next level by infusing character and creating a story or sense of emotion when you see the subject. I love creating something that allows the viewer's imagination to run wild with ideas and interpretations, yet capturing something for its elegance, simplicity, or classic nature can let that same person feel the rawness or the beauty of something so real.
